My family was all about that conversion van life when I was a kid. We eventually moved onto the RV life but man the vans were awesome. I remember being in Florida on a family trip and watching the Huskers beat Miami in the 1995 Orange Bowl on a tiny tv in the back.

Gotta love a big cushy conversion van.

Those are probably the most comfortable vehicles to do a long road trip in besides a Town Car.

We had two conversion vans growing up (not at the same time). The velour seats, the velour curtains, the captain’s chairs.... Man, that was the life. Both of them also came with TVs. The second one even came with a small table, like a cocktail size table, with four cup holders in it. And the rear bench seat folded out into a queen size bed. Oh, and CB radios. They both had CBs. We used to go road tripping all the time in those things. And dad used to be a truck driver back when he was a migrant, so he knew all the trucker lingo, too, so we'd have conversations with truckers during our trips. It was definitely a great way to grow up.

Funny you should mention it, my mom had a conversion van and then a town car when we were growing up; both were supremely comfortable!

This one doesn’t have a TV, sadly. But the captain chairs and blinds are nice. And the back seats fold to a full bed

The TV reception was always spotty, anyway. They could sometimes pick up UHF signals, but VHF were pretty much out of the question. Though I bet, nowadays, you could rig up a little HD antenna and have better luck since they’re so much smaller and easier to deal with.
